Finishes for Granite
At Granitos do Norte, we offer a range of finishes to enhance the beauty and functionality of granite and natural stone. From the intense shine of polished finishes to the non-slip texture of flamed finishes, each finish is designed to meet different architectural needs.
Smoothed Granite
A smooth, completely flat surface that shows the true color of the materials without the shine and detail of a polished finish. This finish is considered very warm and comfortable.
Flamed Granite
Produced by exposing the stone to high temperatures, it should be noted that not all materials flame. The flamed finish is sufficiently flat for paving, although it allows for variations in the relief of its surface and has a face composed of layers or “chips.”
Polished Granite
A glossy surface that enhances the full color of the materials, as well as their specific characteristics (grain, veins, etc.). Completely flat and smooth, this finish conveys feelings of nobility and refinement and reveals all the beauty and strength of natural stone.
Shot-blasted granite
A glossy surface that enhances the full coloration of the materials, as well as their specific characteristics (grain, veins, etc.). Completely flat and smooth, this finish conveys feelings of nobility and refinement and reveals all the beauty and strength of natural stone.
Sandblasted Granite
The sandblasted finish is non-slip and semi-rough, sufficiently flat, and highly suitable for paving. Comparatively, this finish is less rough than shot blasted and more uneven to the touch than brushed.
Cracked/Crumbled Granite
A 100% natural finish obtained by splitting the stone manually with specific tools or using pneumatic splitters, resulting in a very rough and more or less irregular appearance depending on the texture of the rock in question.
Sawn Granite
The surface of this finish is not smooth to the touch, but it is more than sufficiently flat and suitable for flooring. Although not completely non-slip, sawn material creates comparatively more friction than polished or honed material.
Scratched Granite
The scratched finish is one of the most expensive finishing options, but it gives the stone a unique effect. This solution also requires more time for production.
Waterjet Cut Granite
Water jet finishing, as the name suggests, is achieved using a jet of water, which can be adjusted as needed to achieve various levels of roughness.
